Your Workshop Coach
Richard O'Connor

Richard O'Connor
Personal Trainer, Madmule Trail founder

Richard has developed this introductory course to share his knowledge garnered over countless ultra marathons and mountain ultras. The information also presented from 25 years of fitness coaching experience and 9 years of Royal Marine service.

Richard has completed the infamous UTMB 100 mile finals in 2019 and 2024, North Downs Way 100 in sub 22 hours and most recently the brutal Ultra Trail Snowdonia 100 miles winning his age group category.

'Observing fellow competitors at a multitude of endurance races, I am still shocked to see so many without the fundamental skills to coordinate the poles to work to their advantage. A dedicated consistent amount of time set aside to use the poles in training WILL enhance and support the goals of many to complete these challenges within the cut off times that are being set. '

'I have accumulated thousands of hours on the hills utilising the poles to get the most out of every stride. By doing so I have been rewarded with the results I set out to achieve and remaining injury free in the process'
